About Joseph Madaio

I am Joseph 'Joe' Madaio. I was born and raised in Brooklyn where I attended St. Finbars and St. Francis Cabrini schools and Xaverian High School before graduating from Herkimer College upstate NY. After college I worked in the airline industry before starting my real estate career in 1984 with a well-known local broker and mentor, Anthony Cantalupo. I stayed there until 1989 when was hired to manage a national real estate franchise. Staying with that company for about 2 years, I then learned of an amazing real estate company called RE/MAX and opened the first of 2 RE/MAX 1st Choice Realty offices in 1992 in Bensonhurst. As my company grew, I added a second office in Bay Ridge. To this day, several of my original agents from back then are still with me. In 2008 I sold my RE/MAX company but remained there as a RE/MAX manager until the beginning of 2017 when the brokers I sold it to lost the franchise. Knowing how much I loved RE/MAX, I partnered up with 2 of his agents/friends, Robert Coppolino and Sal Carola, and opened up the first 2 RE/MAX Elite offices, one in Brooklyn and the other in Staten Island, and now have a total of 4, a second in Staten Island and one in the Rockaways. Since starting in the real estate business, I loved serving the, families, friends and communities with what most people consider their lifetime dream of owning their own place. Although working many long hours, I feel like I haven't worked a day in my career since starting in this business because, like they say, if you enjoy what you do for a living, you never work a day in your life! Having sold hundreds of homes to and for hundreds of families, I remain dedicated to helping many, many more families and friends in the years to come!
